  2. Pulling weeds for me allows getting my inner life in order. Whenever I sit in my garden and look underneath the huge plants with all the growth that has taken place, it reminds me that I too have been growing in awareness as to the opportunities that life offers. It gives me the time needed to live that introspective life that we too many times rush through. Reflective living gives us time to appreciate what we have now. It encourages those moments where we can STOP and look around at the many blessings that fill our lives. The sun rising and setting, the full moon, the birds singing, the new “Sweetheart Rose” waiting to be picked, people around us that we love that love us. It gives us a chance to see all the contrasts in our lives so that by discovering what we don’t want we can clarify what we do want and begin to affirm those things. It offers a short refuge to pat ourselves on the back as to how quickly we overcame challenges with such ease and grace. Most important of all, time spent doing the simple things like pulling weeds gives us time to connect to our SOURCE of All-That-Is and know without doubt that we are not alone, that a legion of angels and spirits, stand by ready at any moment to assist us in living a life full out. And while you are there in the stillness of your garden, if you listen closely you may hear the whispers, and feel the nudges, and know that now is all that really counts for the good that we can all do in this wonderful world. Enjoy the results of your labor of love in tending both your outer and inner garden. We gardeners know that we trim away spent blooms to make way for new flowers.
